Butler's Coach

Tonight, Butler and Duke compete for the NCAA championship.  While I would pull for any team playing against Duke (except possibly UNC), Butler's coach provides even greater motivation to cheer for Butler.  I'm impressed that Coach Brad Stevens is 33 years old and has already experienced a distinguished career (see http://blog.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/2010/03/butler_coach_brad_stevens_is_3.html).  If Butler wins tonight, Coach Stevens will be the youngest to win an NCAA championship since 1940 (see http://www.seattlepi.com/cbasketball/307202_coaches13.html).  Given that I will be 33 very soon, it seems extraordinary that someone so young already has excelled to this level especially since most coaches will never lead a team to the Final Four during their careers.

Thus, it is with great enthusiasm that I say, Go Butler!

  1. Oh, well. They didn't win, but it definitely was a fun game to watch!
