Strawberry Patches
As a child, I lived within a mile of a strawberry patch. I always looked forward to strawberry season because my family and I would spend afternoons at the patch picking gallons of juicy, delicious strawberries. The fact that we could eat all the strawberries we wanted for free while picking made the activity even more fun... and, yes, I made sure the ones I ate were clean. It's been years since I have picked strawberries, but I usually manage to get some freshly picked strawberries from a local farm. Since this is my first spring in Huntersville, I just did a Google search to find a local strawberry patch. It appears that the nearest one is about 45 minutes away... how disappointing! Although I have purchased a few containers of strawberries from Harris Teeter, it's simply not the same as getting fresh ones from a farm. Hopefully, the farmer's market will have some.
