Parking Lots

Quite a while back, Jay and I began noticing something noteworthy when we would return to our car after shopping at the mall, grocery store, etc.  Very often, the passengers of a car adjacent to ours are returning to their car at the same time we are returning to ours.  What makes this seem so strange is that when we look around the parking lot there are very few, if any, other people returning to their cars.  Especially when the parking lots are full, it seems like the probability of this happening very often would be small; however, I do believe that it happens to us more often than it doesn't.  I can't think of a good explanation for this, and I wonder if others experience the same thing.
